HOW TO CHOOSE A FILM
When selecting a window film, you must first decide what your primary solar control objectives are. So that you can compare the different film products on offer, and to give you hard evidence of the superiority of our films, we provide heat transfer and optical performance characteristics of our Automotive, Residential, Commerical, Security and Safety films on our one of a kind heat display.
Solar control window films are designed to specifically control the sun's electro-magnetic energy. You can select a window film based on the transmittance, reflective properties and absorbtion performance characteristics. Performance results are provided for three distinct regions within the spectral distribution of solar radiation; ultraviolet, visible and near-infared. With this information you can choose which film meets or exceeds expectations for aesthetics, comfort and total solar energy rejection performance.
NSW has now legalised 35% on the front doors and 20% on the rear doors of your vehicle!
NSW highway patrol cars choose Tint Wizard's auto tinting services to help them stay cool in the heat of Sydney and NSW country traffic conditions. BENEFITS OF TINT WIZARD'S FILM'S
Driving Cooler: Our film's are designed to reject from 70% of the total solar energy, making your car cooler and reducing the need for air conditioning. It helps cut annoying glare, reducing intense bright spots on sunny days and blinding head lights at night. You will no longer need to put mats on the windows to stop the glare and uv from reaching your kids!
Protect Car Interior: Our tint is like sunscreen for your car. Rejecting 99% of all ultraviolet rays. It shields against premature leather, vinyl and fabric discolouration and fading.
Protection from UV: Our tint shields both UVA and UVB ultraviolet rays. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, there is a direct link between more time spent driving an automobile and a higher incidence of right-sided (in Australia) skin cancers.
Aesthetics: Built to last with many films featuring a lifetime warranty, all Suntek and Solar Gard films come in a wide variety of colours and tints to compliment any car exterior.
WHAT IS LEGAL LIMIT WINDOW TINT?
Legal Limit for vehicle laws are different in certain territories and states.
Below are the details for the limits approved in New South Wales (NSW).
Windshield: Only uppermost 10% of the windshield may be tinted.
Front side windows: Must have more than 35% VLT.
Back side windows: Must have more than 20% VLT.
Rear window: Must have more than 20% VLT.
In New South Wales (NSW) windshields may only have a tinted strip on top, equaling to either 10% of total windshield area, or the portion of the windshield above the reach of windshield wipers, whichever is greater.
Front side windows, back side windows and rear window must not block more than 80% of total light, meaning it can have 20% VLT. Unless the vehicle has two rear view mirrors on both sides, 35% VLT is permitted.
Other NSW tint laws: Reflective or mirror-like tinted film is not permitted. Bubbled, damaged, discoloured or otherwise deteriorated film which impacts driver’s vision is not allowed. If side windows or rear window is tinted, the vehicle must have dual exterior rear view mirrors. Factory-made glass on windshields may have up to 70% VLT. No aftermarket tint is permitted besides the uppermost part. Vehicles first registered before 1 August 1994 also have 35% minimum VLT unless darker tint was already fitted. Trucks, vans, utility vehicles, or other similar vehicles designed to carry goods and where vehicle construction reduces the need to see through the rear window while driving have no VLT limits for tinting windows behind driver.
